· Advise poultry business SME’s on the appropriate equipment required for poultry production and processing

· Advise SME’s on record keeping and strategic management of the poultry business

· Coach the SME’s on how to assess the health of hives and treatment procedures in case of infestations

· Train the SME’s on bee keeping best practices such as pollination, hive management, honey harvesting, dividing colonies and queens, replacing combs etc.

· Advise SME’s on post harvesting processes/handling of honey, sales and marketing strategies, and record keeping

· Advise SME’s on appropriate equipment for both the production and processing equipment for honey production

· Assist SME’s in applying for relevant licenses.

· Assist fish production business SME’s to understand the fish value chain, the gaps in their contexts, and how to address these gaps as business opportunities.

· Train the fish production business SME’s on:

  • Establishment of fish farms (ponds, raised beds, and cage fishing) including advice on optimum capacities of production based on the available resources.
  • Fish farming best practices for profitable production (feeding, pest and disease control etc.)
  • Production planning for proper capacity utilization and management of raw materials
  • Management of hatcheries
  • Fish processing standards and methods
  • Health and Safety practices and audits in the farms

· Advise fish production business SME’s on the appropriate equipment required for fish farming/production and processing

· Advise SME’s on record keeping and strategic management of the fish production business

· Provide capacity building to SME’s in financial management to include the development or input into book-keeping systems, internal control systems, financial policies and procedures, budgeting systems, asset management, financial reporting systems and tax reporting.

· Identifykey measures for driving business profitability and create structures for capturing data for monitoring purposes.

· Help in determining appropriate business financing e.g. equity financing, debt financing, working capital, fixed asset financing etc. needed by the business to achieve optimal growth.

· Provide support in day-to-day book keeping functions, regular reporting and budget review functions.

· Review and input into the SME’s business model touching on problems the business is addressing and its solutions, key activities for measuring, unique value proposition, customer segments, channels/paths to customers, cost structure and revenue streams.

· Perform tax research, planning to ensure that the SME’s organisation's remains compliant with all prevailing statutory and regulatory standards cost effectively.
